Chicken and Corn Soup for Cold Relief

Cold is the common illness which will attack in any season there is no medicine for cold which reduce it in less than 7 days.Even you tried effective medicines it will calm down in 7 days otherwise it takes normally 1 week time. Although people prefer so many medicines to get relief from running nose. There are lots of remedies to get relief from cold which are available in kitchen itself. Here I am sharing a soup which will give better relief to you from severe cold.

Chicken and Corn Soup

Chicken-Corn-Soup-For-Running-Nose

  Ingredients

  • 1table spoon rice bran oil                             
  • 250g chicken breast fillet, diced
  • 1 liter chicken stock
  • 420g can creamed corn
  • 2x125g cans corn kernels, drained
  • 2table spoons corn flour
  • ¼cup pure cream
  • 1egg, lightly beaten
  • 2green onions, thinly sliced
  • Extra thinly sliced green onion, to serve

Preparation Method 

  • Heat oil in a large sauce pan over medium-high-heat. Add chicken.Cook, stirring, for 3 to 5 minutes or until browned all over.
  • Add stock, creamed corn, corn kernels and 1 cup cold water. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for10minutes.
  • Mean while, blend corn flour with 2 table spoons cold water until smooth. Increase heat to medium-high. Gradually stir corn flour mixture into soup. Add cream. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until thickened.
  • Remove from heat. Add egg in a slow, Steady stream, stirring constantly, to form Ribbons. Stir in onion. Season with pepper. Serve soup topped with extra onion.
